b=3, c= 7
a=10, b=24
Please help me solve. I'm edger to find out the answer. Please, if possible, show all steps and I'll award you a best answer.
Find the missing length of the right triangle if a and b are the legs and c is the length of the hypotenuse?
I believe the formula is a^2 + b^2 = c^2.
Let me say that again: a squared plus b squared equals c squared.
So plug in your values and solve it.
Reply:A^2 + B^2 = C^2
A^2 + 3^2 = 7^2
A^2 +9 = 49
-9 -9
A^2 =40
square root both sides
A=square root of 40 or 2square root sign 10
10^2 + 24^2 = C^2
100 + 576 = C^2
676=C^2
square root of both sides
26=C
Reply:a^2 + b^2 = c^2
a^2 + 3^2 = 7^2
a^2 + 9 = 49
a^2 = 40
a = SQRT (40)
a = 6.32
10^2 + 24^2 = c^2
100 + 576 = c^2
676 = c^2
SQRT (676) = c
26 = c
Reply:a2+b2=c2
102+ 242=c2
100 + 576= c2
√676= √c2
26= c
a2+b2=c2
a2+ 32=72
a2 + 9= 49
-9 -9
√A2 = √40
The formula is a squared + b squared = c squared.
Reply:Surely you recently learnd the equation that gives the aswer
a square plus b squared equals c squared
so just rearrange that to solve for a for the first one and leave it the way it is for the second one... plug and chug and take the square root.
Reply:it should be a=4, and i'm not sure about the second one sorry.
Reply:On the first problem you have to subtract 3 (squared) from 7(squared), which gives you 40, then take the square root of that which is 6.3.
On the 2nd one, take 10(squared) plus 24(squared), which equalls 676, then take the square root, which is 26.
Reply:Hi,
The length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle can be found using the Pythagoras' theorem, which states that the square of the length of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the lengths of the two other sides.
If c is the length of the hypotenuse and a and b are the lengths of the other sides then:
a squared + b squared = c squared
so c will be square root of (a squared + b squared)
if a = 10 and b = 24 then
c suqared = 100 + 576 = 676
so square root of 676 = 26 = c
If b = 3 and c = 7 then
a squared = c squared - b squared = 49 - 9 = 40
so a = sqrt 40 = 6.32455532
Reply:b x b + c x c = a x a
a x a + b x b = c x c
Reply:A squared + B squared= C Squared
1. A s. + 3 s. = 7 s.
A s. + 9 = 49
49 - 9 = 40= A s.
Square root of 40= 6.324= A
2. 10 s. + 24 s. = C s.
100 + 576= 676
square root of 676= 26= C
There you go!
Reply:a^2 + 3^2 = 7^2
a^2 + 9 = 49
a^2 = 40
a = √40 or 2√10
10^2 + 24^2 = c^2
100 + 576 = c^2
676 = c^2
26 = c
