Where can you find the page about going to Washington D.C. and helping out the people in the capital?

I want to sign up for it. So please tell me if u know. If u were excepted please give me tips and advice and I would love to learn about your experience! : )

Where can you find the page about going to Washington D.C. and helping out the people in the capital?
What do you mean, helping out people in the Capital? First of all, do you mean CAPITOL, by which you refer to the Congressional Representatives or do you mean CAPITAL as in anywhere in the entire city?

If you mean CAPITAL, choose a particular department and visit their website. Put in "intern" in the search engine and you should find information.

If you mean CAPITOL, you must visit the page of the House or Senate representative you wish to work under and see the specific nature of their internship program.

If you want any tips, please look into more information about how the government system works. If you are going to work for a government official, you will need to know about the person, what their responsibilities are, and how you will best be able to help them. When working for a representative, you are expected to write constituents, schedule appointments and treat with lobbyists, and basically serve the person. This is not a field trip or a "learning experience," it's a job and you should expect to know at least something about what you're doing. I wouldn't get into the area unless you're genuinely interested in a career in politics.

If you're looking for just a fun time and seeing the capital, work a summer job, like a tour guide for a company in town, or join a program for high-school age students that teaches you about the inner workings of the government. Considering the high level of competition and extremely levity of the internship positions under government officials, you may be happier off in the latter options.
