Will a college find out if I lie and say I achieved 4GCSE'S grade C+ when I only achieved 3?

Im 23 and want to return to full-time college studying a btec national diploma in construction. The course requirements state that I need 4 gcse's grade a-c when i only have 3 at a-c and my other gcse's are grade d. I was thinking of fibbing and putting down one extra at grade c on my application but will they find out?. They never asked for proof of results last time I went to college.

3 or 4 GCSEs at grade C+ are both not much. There's no need to lie really. Be honest!
Reply:yes, because when you enrol they'll most probably ask you to bring alony your certificates. But it may be a good idea to get in contact with the college, tell them your situation and that you think you'd be able to cope with such a course.
Reply:You have to be honest.

Any college worth its salt will ask for proof of your results at some point, and if they then found out that you've lied they can and probably will throw you off your course.

They may be able to offer you an entrance exam instead of you having to re-do a whole GCSE course, speak to the admissions office
Reply:Be honest with the college. As somewhere down the line they will find out that you fibbed.

On some courses they want to balance out the ages of the students. If the class size is 20, the lecturers will want a few older students to try and help control some of the more noisy teenagers.
Reply:I would say be honest with them - you are considered to be a mature student now so they will most likely be more than happy to accept you with what you have already!
Reply:Mr. thy query at thr level, May be thy dont ask u for the proof but they do query. Beside that u should be honest and work hard. Best Of Luck
Reply:Lie about this and they'll wonder what other stories you've told them. Your best bet is to call them, speak to someone in the admissions department (how apt!), give them the information and if they don’t have space why not ask if there are any courses you can do that will give you enough points to get on to the one you want. It might take a little longer, but if it’s really what you want to do, it’ll be worth it. Showing willing to make up the difference may also make them more likely to take you on, and in either case will improve your CV.

Their answer may also depend on exactly what grades you got, for example if you have 3 A* grades and 2 D grades, chances are they might let you in, but if it’s 3 C grades and an E you may have more of a problem.
Reply:Of course evrything is on a database now. It only takes a few clicks of a mouse to access the information.

Reply:of course they will, it will be on your record your school sends to the college!!
