i also need to know how to convert a y=mx+c equation to a ax+by+c=0 equation
How to find equation for (4,1) gradient: 5 anser has to be expressed in both ax+by+c=0 and y=mx+c?
y=mx+b
x=4, y=1 m=5
substitute that into y=mx+b or y=mx+c, where c/b is the y intercept
1=5*4+b
1=20+b
-20
-19=b
so the slope intercept form is
y=5x+-19
y=5x-19
MORE TO COME . . .
ax+by+c=0 is the general form equation for a straight line.
a,b,c are just numbers.
x is the x value and y is the y value.
You can change the slope intercept form the the general form, as long as you get the 0= part.
You can do this by usually minusing y from both sides.
y=5x-19
-y -y
0=5x-y-19
Just make sure you rearrange the equation so that c(a value) follows y and a value which follows x and another value.
