I had a c section nearly 4 months ago and although its healed very well i find its still very tender?

my friends who have had c sections say they have no discomfort, i find its if the dog is laying on my lap leaning into my tummy, or if my baby sits on my tummy, or squeezing betwenn arked cars?? I asked my doctor a while ago butshe just said i was over doing it!! has anyone else experienced this??

I've had 2 abdominal surgeries for inguinal hernias and I recently had a c section. When they cut you they cut all the nerves and it takes 6 months or longer, maybe years, for those nerves to begin growing back together. You may have numbness or tenderness for only a short period or it may never go away. I used to get bikini waxes all the time but since I had my inguinal surgery on the left side even shaving irritates the hell out of me, so I no longer get the waxes. your uterus is also healing up so that also is going to be very tender. Good Luck, its been only 4 short months give yourself a little time it will get better I promise ( the nerve thing 6months or longer and numbness info was provided by my surgeon, who did my hernia surgeries, I was having the same problem) my surgeries were 5 years ago
Reply:hum i have had 2 sections and both times i found that the tenderness never fully went away. Im currently 29 weeks pregnant with #3 and im starting to get a lot of tenderness but thats just coz its stretching but there was a 3 year age gap between my first 2 and like i said it always hurt a little at times.I guess everyone heals differently. Just take it easy as it has only been 4 months and im sure it will get easier x
Reply:I have not had a section but had an ectopic pregnancy where I was opened up and felt like you for a long time after, about a year, it takes a while to heal inside, you are still bruised, I am still numb around my scar after 9 years, you are never the same after being opened up. Time will heal it.
Reply:It will be, mine was almost a year ago, and it still is also, and still numb. No worries! congrats on the bundle :)
Reply:Yes - I've had 2 c sections - the first emergency section was painful for around a year (no infections or complications) and the second planned c section was better - around 6 months it stopped being tender.

3 years later, I still get the odd twinge - but here is nothing wrong. An emergency c section can be painful for longer than a planned one (as I have found) - when it's a real emergency situation they rip you open a bit and it takes longer to heal.

Have it checked out again though - and don't overdo it (lifting heavy things or vigorous exercise.
Reply:mine was like that it goes away after awhile
Reply:your nerves are probably just now growing back which is why its so tender. I had a c-section almost 5 years ago and I still have tender spots and it still gets sore and itchy....I think also when you have a c-section the healing time is a lot longer b/c lets face it you got better and more important things to do rather than just laying around getting better, right?
Reply:I just had a tubal reversal done 2 months ago and my insion is healed but tender when its bumped. I asked the doctor if the tenderness will go away but she said it depends on your bodys healing process to determin how long it will take. I am preggo now and I worry about the baby hurting it as it grows. but the doc said it should be fine.
Reply:I had a c-section 2 1/2 years ago and that area is still numb. Don't worry, it is likely just all the stuff inside healing up. It takes quite a while for everything to get back to normal.
Reply:My wife had a C Section, she was very tender. It took two years before she didn't have any pain from it.
Reply:ive never had a section but did get cut in the same place due to a overy being removed that was nearly 5yrs ago and my belly and scar is still tender
Reply:I had a c section about 8 mths ago. Mine still has a strange numb feeling. and I find that I just don't like things touching it but as for discomfort I don't have any.
Reply:Everything is going to be tender. It's a big surgery you must remember. Your body went through a lot in 9 months and it takes 9 months or more to get it back to normal.
